【摘要】：Silicified Crocidolite木变石是一种含硅化青石棉的矿物，为羟基的钠铁硅酸盐。因具有类似木纹状，被误认为是树木硅化而成。其实木变石主要形成于热液活动影响的、含铁岩石的接触变质作用带。虎睛石是木变石的一种。而蓝色的木变石被称为鹰睛石。A sodium iron silicate, crocidolite is fibrous, silicified blue asbestos. It is formed from altered metamorphic rocks under moderate temperature and pressure. Tiger’s-eye is formed when quartz replaces crocidolite and becomes compact and full of solid fibers, exhibiting a banded,chatoyant effect. The golden brown variety is called tiger’s eye and the blue gray variety is called hawk’s-eye.Both are opaque. Silicified Crocidolite

木变石是一种含硅化青石棉的矿物，为羟基的钠铁硅酸盐。因具有类似木纹状，被误认为是树木硅化而成。其实木变石主要形成于热液活动影响的、含铁岩石的接触变质作用带。因此原石多呈具纤维构造的板状块体，其主要矿物为石英。产地主要有南非、澳大利亚、缅甸、印度、纳米比亚和美国等。

虎睛石是木变石的一种。其特征为棕黄、黄褐色至红褐色，表面呈排列整齐的波纹纤维结构。抛光后呈丝绢光泽。硬度7。弧面宝石能呈现猫眼效应。黄棕色和黄褐色条纹是氧化铁色斑所造成的。而蓝色的木变石被称为鹰睛石。
