【摘要】：Agate Chalcedony Jasper玛瑙、玉髓和碧玉是宝石中历史最悠久的宝石品种，5000年前，人类就有应用。玛瑙和玉髓同属石英质玉石，从外观特征而言，玛瑙具有不同颜色的环带和条纹。从矿物学角度讲，玛瑙是由胶体转变而成的隐晶质石英集合体；而玉髓则未经历胶体阶段，直接生成隐晶质集合体。在宝石学中，宝石学家把玛瑙归属玉髓的变种。玛瑙和玉髓的品种和名称繁多，大都以颜色、形态和产地命名，也有一部分袭用了珠宝市场上的俗称。

玛瑙和玉髓的品种和名称繁多，大都以颜色、形态和产地命名，也有一部分袭用了珠宝市场上的俗称。

Agate and chalcedony are often found in volcanic rocks. Jasper is a type of chalcedony that incorporates varying amounts of other minerals, which give it its opacity and color.
