以读写教学培养学生人文素养的案例优化

【摘要】:(二)阅读与人文素养培育人与动物的话题是个太过广阔的命题。人类对待动物的态度取决于很多原因,人性的善良与不善良只占了其中一部分,另与历史、传统,还有整个社会的人文素养,都有关系。所以可以抓住这个话题,让学生充分展开讨论,引导他们得出结论:保护动物、保护大自然,就等同保护自己。我们与大自然息息相关,只要少一些破坏,做好保护措施,不再贪婪地向大自然索取,大自然必能与人类和谐共处。

Koalas(考拉)are one of those creatures that everyone loves so it was especially shocking to hear the news that the Australian government had euthanized(安乐死)over 600 koalas by lethal injection.The headlines enraged many Australian citizens and people around the world.

The reality of why the Australian government decided to cull 686 koalas is heartbreaking.The 8,000-strong colony of koalas had become too large for the woodland.There weren't enough eucalyptus trees(桉树)for the koalas to sustain themselves.As a result,the koalas were dying of starvation.

The situation is a little confusing to most.After all,aren't koala populations in danger in parts of Australia?Yes!According to the Australia Zoo,koalas are“currently under great threat due to urbanization and massive,uncontrolled habitat destruction.”

So why didn't Australia simply move the koalas to less populated areas?Environment Minister Lisa Neville explained,“Experience suggests that moving these koalas does not work and can in fact cause even greater suffering.”

This whole story begs many questions.How can we grow our urban areas and still protect animals and their habitats?Is being outraged by a scientist-led effort to humanely cull a group of starving koalas the issue we should be focused on?Or should we be more upset by the things we do every day that harm the habitat of our animal friends?
